As a first wave Accountable Care System, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) health and social care partners have an ambitious plan to make fast and tangible progress with improving mental health services. We are working with ELFT (East London Foundation Trust) to:
- Help communities build resilience;
- Support people with mental health problems and their families to achieve their health and life goals;
- Deliver the Five Year Forward Views for Mental Health and General Practice.
To help deliver our vision, we have two new exciting opportunities to join our partnership.
Mental Health Programme Improvement Manager
To help us make a real difference to our service users, their families and carers, staff and partners, we are looking for someone with strong project and programme management skills to be our Mental Health Improvement Manager, to:
- Manage the planning, delivery and assurance of the BLMK mental health improvement programme
- Coordinate and provide improvement and project support around key improvement priorities (in particular FYFV deliverables)
- Develop business cases to support improvement priorities where required
- Develop and effectively manage relationships, fostering a culture of collaboration across BLMK partners, and broader mental health partners including the East of England Clinical Network and the national FYFV team
- Act as an advocate and champion for mental health within the BLMK STP partnership, ensuring the involvement and engagement of service users, carers, citizens and clinicians where appropriate
This post is fixed term for one year, and we are able to offer a secondment or fixed term contract.

Mental Health Clinical Lead
We are looking for a highly skilled, creative, dynamic and enthusiastic clinician to provide clinical leadership to the mental health workstream, and to provide mental health advice and support to the STP more generally. This will include providing clinical leadership, advice and support to:
- Support ongoing development and implementation of the clinical vision and strategy for Mental Health for BLMK;
- Ensuring all partners agree a common vision and sign up to the relevant delivery action plans;
- Development of evidence based consensus models/pathways, e.g. mental health in primary care home;
- Activity, resource and workforce planning for key Five Year Forward View for Mental Health deliverables, e.g. IAPT;
- Impact assessment to support business cases for recurrent funding for non-recurrently funded services, e.g. Liaison and Perinatal;
- Collaboration on any business cases for nationally allocated funds;
- Needs assessment, e.g. for veteran mental health
- Development of business cases for Sustainability and Transformation Funding support.
